Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Lately, I haven't been interested with any new shows that have been aired on TV.  A lot of those reality shows are just plain crap that is obviously not reality.  What I've been watching lately is GSN.  I love game shows.  Probably because I would give an arm and a leg to be on a game show.  It is full of excitement and energy.  Oh, and we can't forget about the money you can win with your smart, talented, or strong enough.  Besides the game show, however, I've been addicted to the 1990's show- Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.  My brother gave me the third season for Christmas, and I've been obsessed ever since.

What I think I enjoy most about the show is that it is relatable.  Well....yes and no.  It is relatable in the fact of the issues of getting into trouble, relationships, friendships, school, and family.  Although, some of the situations are extreme, which makes the show hilarious.  The writers were very creative, but knew how to communicate to their audience of all ages.  This is probably why I also enjoyed the show when I was younger.

If You Give A Pig a Pancake...

I’m pretty sure EVERYONE has read this book.  If not…I mean, it’s not too late to order it off Amazon.com.  I promise, I won’t judge you if I see you reading this book.  Then once you finish reading about the sticky-fingered pig, you can read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Give a Moose a Muffin.  Those were some of the first books that I started reading by myself.  I felt pretty smart for reading these books independently as a fifth-grader.  Uhhh even though it was marked as third grade reading level.  Whatever.  Those were the first books that I completed on my own.  Reading was not one of my strengths back in elementary school.  Neither was math or science or history or writing.  Whatever.  But you know what?  So what.  Humans do this cool thing called learning.  We learn from making mistakes, other people, and doing something new.

These past two years have been full of words and phases like “new” and “for the first time.”  For example, two years ago was my first year of college.  I made new friends.  Last year, was my first time on a mission trip.  However, how can you strengthen any weaknesses if you don’t make mistake.  If you never make a mistake then you never challenge yourself.  You will never learn ANYTHING.  Life isn’t about standing on your heels.  It’s about getting set on the balls of your feet.

This blog will be a form of expression.  Something that I feel I can’t do all the time.  No, I will not be complaining about my life on here, because 1) there isn’t much to complain about 2) It is NOT professional to vent anywhere online and 3) I want this blog to make me think…and you to think.  Right now I am in the search of finding that thing I’m passionate about.  I’m trying to listen to Him to see where He wants me to go.  I know what/who I really care about; my family, friends, youth, my education, homelessness…etc.  There are a lot of other things, but what is that one thing.  I will talk about a lot of different topics on here.  Also, I will post a lot of pictures, links, videos…you know blog stuff.  Reading and writing are forms of expression that I hope I will be able to do a lot of this semester.
